WANTED!
Don’t Throw That Thing Away!
We are always on the lookout for used equipment, manuals, or books.
We have recently expanded our collection of data books from a few dozen to over 1,200! We have replaced all but a few of the originals with PDF OCR scans, and the bulk have been downloaded from archive.org. In spite of having this many, we are still in need of the following electronic data books for our ongoing projects. They are listed in descending order of importance:
This Fairchild data book is the 1976 Fairchild Bipolar Memory Data Book [292-12-0002-006]. We hope this data book documents several early PROMs that disappeared in the later editions. We currently have the 1977, 1979, and 1983 editions.
We’re also looking for any Fujitsu data book containing the MB705x PROM series. These PROMs are pre-DEAP and use an unknown programming algorithm.
We will compensate you for shipping. If you have them in PDF format, even better! If you provide us with one of these books, we will send you a listing of our PDF library. We will be happy to make a few of them available for you as a thank-you. If you are into the physical books, we are willing to trade with them. Here are the titles we still have in physical form:
- 1984 Intel Microsystem Components Handbook Volume I [230843-001]
- 1984 NEC Microcomputer Catalog [84 MICROCAT-1-84-USA 50 K]
- 1983 Motorola Optoelectronics Device Data [DL118R1]
- 1983 Motorola Small Signal Transistor Data [DL126]
- 1985 Motorola Rectifiers and Zener Diodes Data [DL125 REV 1]
- 1981 TI The Bipolar Microcomputer Components Data Book for Design Engineers, Third Edition [LCC5831]
Working or not, that electronic equipment you’re about to throw away may be worth something.
We are always on the lookout for electronics we can save from neglect, abuse, or landfills. Things you might think of as trash might be as an opportunity for us to do good. We are usually on the lookout for specific items to help us run and expand our vintage electronics service business. If you find one of these for us, we might be able to pay you for it. Just let us know on our tips line.
Korg BX-3, 2nd Generation
Korg BX-3 from the 2000s. It doesn’t need to be pretty. In fact, it doesn’t even have to work. Scratches, dents, bangs, and other cabinet damage is fine, but it does need to have all its major parts.
A few missing screws or broken keys are OK.
Korg CX-3, 2002 Version
Korg CX-3 from the 2000s. We specifically need a V2 CX-3 organ that came that way from the factory, and not an upgraded V1 CX-3. It doesn’t need to be pretty. In fact, it doesn’t even have to work. Scratches, dents, bangs, and other cabinet damage is fine, but it does need to have all its major parts.
A few missing screws or broken keys are OK.
We are also on the lookout for any of the following items. These items are usually of interest to us regardless of condition, even if it is missing parts!
We may or may not be able to offer any cash aside from the cost for you to ship it to us. It depends on our situation and the current market. Your item may be:
- Repaired and sold.
- Parted out (Much like an auto salvage yard “chops” cars into used parts). There is a demand for used parts.
You may even request that your item be repaired and donated to charity! You may even specify the charity. To do this, the item must be in good physical condition.
We cannot offer any payment to you for the item, including the shipping to us. We provide the parts and labor, and your item finds a new home.
Because we are not a charitable organization, you will not be able to take a tax deduction (but most of us in the US can’t anyway after the tax changes in 2017).
In the unlikely event that we cannot repair your item for charitable donation, one of two things will happen:
- The item will be scrapped and recycled. We will absorb any costs related to recycling because you paid to ship the item to us.
- The item will be parted out, and we will refund your shipping cost.
Korg BX-3, 2nd Generation
This includes any related spare parts or circuit boards. Korg essentially sold out of replacement main boards over the years because of their high failure rate.
We’re especially interested in those old bad main boards.
